"THE WAITING WALLS"
A playful intervention in the "voids" of Liege
I noticed two different kinds of “waiting” walls: the ones that stand out, are sitting proudly on top of the city, those ones are the result of people’s dispropor - tionate ambitions. The other kind of empty walls are the ones that are not properly “waiting”, it would be better to call them “naked” walls. Indeed, they were meant to live between two buildings and now that one of them is missing, they stand there, just exposed. Every day we read the story told by the buildings, but what happens if we move our focus on what the voids are saying? Are they disclosing the same plot? and what if we change our perspective?

“The city, however, does not tell its story but contains it like the lines of a hand, written in the corners of the streets, the gratings of the windows, the bannisters of the steps, the antennae of the lightning roads, the poles of the flags, every segment marked in turn with scratches, indentations, scrolls"
